6 Dallam runners 1 COLT and 1 Dog

The snow came back, just for night thank goodness, but this was not going to stop our off road darkness fun. We set off on the That's Lythe route, the cobbled steps of Kendal proving very tricky with a covering of snow, we left the tarmac behind us and started to climb up onto Kendal golf course the fog inching down around us as we climbed. A regrouped around a bench then we are off again across the dark fog cover twelfth fairway we soon became lost zig zaging our way around we arrived on top of a small hill this was the thirteen tee............mummmmmmmmm we need to go back up and slightly to the right 'Lets get the Map out and take a bearing' came the shouting crowd behind! but some local knowledge and many golf days on the Kendal course in my youth were starting to paying dividends at last,we left the golf course at last and crossed the Bye pass bridge the fog was starting to lift, which was great as I was starting to contemplate taking a shorter route back.

We touched the mushroom before turning and heading toward the orange Haze of the towns street lights we crossed the old race course and we were back on the tarmac and that un-easy feeling when you run on tarmac covered with snow, we dropped into town before crossing the River if we had more time the plan was to run over the Castle but not tonight instead we followed the river back to our stating point and quick head count but wait ................................we were only 6 we must have lost someone. Nick was missing, I doubled back to look for him but no sign, I rang him but no answer, then I thought I sore him driving down the road in his little black car, I rang again leaving a message this time. He soon returned the call he was safe, he had shouted bye at the foot bridge on Goosehome but no had heard him.

An easy, steady nights run next week will be harder I've got 7 days to ponder on my nemphis hill ( Inglebrough)

Totals 7m 1100ft ascent 5.6mph ave speed
